His Spear Against His Shield

自相矛盾

A man of the state of Chu had a spear and a shield for sale. He was loud in praise of his shield.

"My shield is so strong that nothing can pierce it through."

He also sang praise of his spear.

"My spear is so strong that it can pierce through anything."

"What would happen," a man asked, "if your spear is used to pierce your shield?"

The man couldn"t answer the question,he had gone with his spear and his shield.

这个成语告诉我们:言多必失,什么事都不要过分夸大其词,要实事求是,

世上任何事物都有正反两面的,物极必反。
